$1.9 Million PetSafe E-Collar Open Class Action

California Pet Owners Could Receive Cash From PetSafe E-Collar Settlement
If you purchased a PetSafe electronic collar, barrier, or pet fence product in California between October 1, 2018, and October 31, 2022, you might be eligible for money from a new $1.9 million class action settlement. The lawsuit claimed that PetSafe’s parent company, Radio Systems Corporation, failed to properly disclose safety information about certain products. The company denies any wrongdoing, but agreed to the settlement to resolve the case.
The products involved include training collars that use sound, vibration, or mild static correction to manage pet behavior, as well as barriers and wireless or in-ground fences that help keep pets within safe boundaries. The settlement applies only to California residents who purchased these specific items during the covered dates.
If approved by the court, eligible buyers can receive payments ranging from $30 to $140 per product, depending on what they purchased. No proof of purchase is required for up to three products, though claims for more than three will need receipts or other documentation. The total payout amount depends on how many valid claims are filed — if there are more claims than expected, payments will be reduced proportionally.
To receive compensation, class members must submit a claim form by December 2, 2025. The final approval hearing is scheduled for January 26, 2026, and payments will be distributed after court approval and the resolution of any appeals.
