SiriusXM Settlement Update: 427,000 Claims Filed, Estimated Payout Around $39
If you filed a claim in the SiriusXM TCPA settlement, there is an update on next steps in the Open Class Action
As of mid-April, 427,627 claims have been submitted. Based on that number, the estimated payout is currently about $39.63 per person.
That number is not final, but it gives a clear picture of where things are heading.
Why the Payout Is Around $39
The settlement fund is fixed at $28 million.
What determines your payout is how many valid claims are filed. In this case, only about 2.1 percent of the estimated 20 million eligible people actually submitted claims.
That relatively low participation rate is why the payout is not just a few dollars.
Fewer claimants means a larger share per person.
The Number Can Still Change
The $39 estimate is based on raw claim counts, not final approvals.
Before payments go out, the administrator still needs to:
Remove duplicate claims
Filter out invalid submissions
Exclude late filings
If a noticeable number of claims are rejected, the payout per person could increase.
When Payments Will Actually Arrive
Nothing is being paid yet.
Here is the expected timeline:
May 11, 2026: Final approval hearing
30 days after: Appeals window
Following months: Claim review and processing
Late 2026 or early 2027: Payments sent
Even in a smooth scenario, this process takes time. If there are objections or appeals, it can take longer.
If You Missed It
The claim deadline was March 21, 2026, and it is now closed.
If you did not file in time, there is no way to receive a payment from this settlement.
What Happens Now
If you already submitted a claim, there is nothing else to do.
At this point, it comes down to court approval, claim verification, and processing.
The only real variable left is how many claims survive the final audit.
That number will decide the final payout.
